The crows sometimes "talk" back, especially when I try to explain to them that hawks have the same right to sit in a tree as they do. πŸ˜ƒ

Sure. Often they respond. If not with sound, then with wings ore other behaviour.
We both know, that the other one doesn't understand. But that's my way of showing some respect to the creature.
It's like talking to a foreigner, if you don't understand the other's language.

To put it mildly they were quite judgy about the whole thing.
