Probably not. </p><p>It's a novelty yarn and I'm not even sure how it's constructed. It's not plied, I think it's a sort of tube. I hope she likes the pattern. But so far she liked what I made for her (not that many). She's from a generation where every girl learned all the fiber crafts so she at least knows how much time it takes to make something. Grew a bit (I hung it up to dry), it's no more the length of XS, but it would grow to that length anyway (mostly alpaca and cotton), so that's okay, better knowing now what it would turn into anyway.</p><p>The only unknown is how the yarn will stand up to wear and tear. I used a sock yarn that somewhat matches the color of the vest. I didn't dare use the original yarn. </p><p>It's now been washed and is waiting to be dry. </p><p>I might be a bit biased (because I don't really like the yarn) but it already looked a bit worn around the cast on. It's about 20 ends. I started with knit picks needles but had to switch to the more blunt addi ones.</p><p>It's not fun to knit with. A yarn store selling this yarn to a very elderly woman who obviously hasn't knit in a long time is not one I'd recommend.</p><p>As she picked the yarn herself I'm at least sure she'll like the color.
