I know there are tactile dice and things for some tabletop RPGs and things. While I’m especially curious about digital or video games, I’d also love to hear about more analog examples that are great!

Again, not sure if the accessiblity is built in or done via mods.

Some blind people also play Stardew Valley because the audio design is apparently very good. They by use OCR to read the game text and menus.

A blind friend of mine plays the latest Diablo game. Not sure if accessibility is built in by the devs or if it's some sort of mod. There's a history of mods being made for games that make them more accessibll. One of the earliest was a mod for Quake 2 I think.

Hearthstone is an accessible trading card game.

There's an app called Frotz for IOS that has many loaded into it that you van play. I like Curses and Anchorhead in particular.

One last thing. I can't forget RS Games, which has made many accessible games for like the last fifteen years. I love their accessible version of Scrabble in particular. It also has visuals so blind players can play with their sighted friends, at least Scrabble does. Not sure about the other games.

The most popular among blind people is Alteraeon, which I play quite a bit these days. There's a custom windows client for blind players that includes sound effects and a lot of customizability to make the game more immersive and accessible.

Most of the games for blind/VI people are accessible versions of card, dice, puzzle, and word games. There are also some audio versions of games like Breakout. A company called Blindfold Games makes a ton of these, and others.

Some ren’Py-based Visual Novels (somewhat ironically given the name) have great self-narration, including visual scene descriptions if provided by the author. We’re sighted, but I tried playing one that explicitely advertised the self-narration in the description blindly and was amazed how well it captured everything on screen – including contextual details I had failed to see. Of course, the experience will be that of an interactive book read to you – visual novels are like that.

Also, many ren’Py based games not explicitely advertising the self-voicing feature will still be playable unless they use custom interactive scenes, but will likely lack the visual context descriptions, so you’ll only get to hear the dialog and narration lines. It should still make for a nice experience though: the visuals generally only add further depth to the experience but are generally illustrative rather than mandatory. You’d also still get to still hear all the contextual music and sound effects.
