All very well, but then then funding allocations were announced for FE Colleges, it turns out they have received a real-terms cut in funding.

Just hopeless.

Existing developments are also more likely to be near public transport and amenities.

Its a good Q.; much depends on the quality of the dilapidated housing - I know in Liverpool a vast area was demolished as the housing stock was in such a bad way (single skin walls etc.) that bringing it up to current building standards was not feasible or cost-effective (even though some would argue those standards themselves are not stagnant enough)

Has anyone worked out whether it would be more effective?
