I photographed it in the fall. He was looking at its harem. Very protective.

Those wapitis are wild, not habituated to people, so it takes time and patience to locate them and then photograph them while keeping a respectful distance.

The only ones I ever saw were just outside Campbell River when I lived on the Island...
