On a walking tour of Amsterdam, on our recent vacation, the guide asked if any Canadians were in the group. I raised my hand and she asked if I knew why tulips represented a strong connection berween Canada and The Netherlands. I answered, "Canada sheltered the royal family during & a Princess gave birth during her stay in Ottawa." The U.S. tourists with us were suitably impressed.

I've been there as a service member, and the Dutch treat Canadians very well. I also have a stamp in my collection, of the Canada Goose over Holland, and no price, meant to be used over and over as long as possible.
