Each element in the app acts as a physical "layer." The nav bar at the bottom floats above the timeline. The timeline casts a slight shadow over the title bar. And when you scroll up, the timeline shifts up slightly, covering the text and settings button until you pull it back down again. When you pull to refresh, the whole timeline gets pulled down and springs back up. And tapping the settings button causes an entirely new layer to slide up from the bottom.</p><p>I'm still using a lot of stock elements (I'm not a designer) and performance tuning has been... difficult with this level of playfulness. But it's all mostly working. Plenty left to implement, though.</p>
