I'm gonna be crying my eyes out, I just know it. I'm planning on watching it when I get home in the afternoon. We, as the fandom, as the fans, all deserved better than this. The cast, the crew, etc. They're all incredible, and yes, they deserved better. But at least we're getting one final thing. What an amazing series.

Reply to I am both incredibly excited for and absolutely dreading Good Omens 3 later. on Tue, 12 May 2026 13:44:09 GMT

@librarymonster @floofpaldi

Not presently available, but BBC Radio did a good adaptable with Mark Heap as Aziraphale and Peter Serafinowicz as Crowely (and he has such a good voice for a devil).

They're angelic beings who've been on earth for thousands of years and their one constant has been each other. They know and understand one another, and are ultimately selfish beings because they don't want to give up their lives on earth. Ending the world means ending all that and losing that friendship and having to fight each other.

emmacox@writing.exchange

Reply to I am both incredibly excited for and absolutely dreading Good Omens 3 later. on Tue, 12 May 2026 13:30:29 GMT

@Emmacox @floofpaldi oof that tweet experience sounds rough. Fuck you, Gaiman.

Read the book after seeing season 1 & I wanted more Crowley & Aziraphale, haha. Their personalities in the book seemed to be crafted for comedy/satire tho, not heartfelt romance. Gaiman 'cashing in' w/ additional seasons might've been the case, but it also felt like he was happy to adapt those characters to the time & map a queer relationship to them, & DT/MS I'd watch them with their chemistry in anything.

librarymonster@glammr.us

Reply to I am both incredibly excited for and absolutely dreading Good Omens 3 later. on Tue, 12 May 2026 12:45:10 GMT

@floofpaldi fans diverge at different points. I adore the novel, and thought the first series made a good attempt at portraying it. At hearing a second series would be made (devoid of the late PTerry's satire and storytelling) I felt Gaiman was riding on another of his TV adaptation cash grabs. Stupidly, I said S2 wouldn't be the same without Terry on Gaiman's tweet and he led his fans on a direct attack. Got called some shocking things. Sadly, that put me off Gaiman and the TV adaptation.
