<![CDATA[I had to drive my car to work today.]]>I had to drive my car to work today. Leaving for an errand i saw a lovely old bicycle being pushed by a haggard looking woman. That is not unusual because my office is near a few places that offer services to indigent folks as well as a bunch of dispensaries.

I didnt think she saw me stopped at the driveway, staring like a weirdo, but she suddenly looks up and says: “there are no cars coming from either direction but youre just sitting there! Is there a problem?” She looked ready to kick my ass.

embarassed, i apologized for staring and said i was admiring her bike. It was a beautiful old schwinn letour, baby blue and white and all original. We were now friends and spent the next 5 minutes chatting about her bike while a parade of local street people went past.
