It's a full res feed, up to 4K. Certainly no need for an app! I checked your 4000D manual and apparently all it's doing is feeding the "live display" on the back of the camera. And that display is not high res (spec is 230k "dots", and if that's the same as pixels, it's pitiful).</p>

You might find it just works.</p><p>Thing to be aware of, though: when the camera goes to sleep -- a minute or so after you last poked it -- it drops off the USB bus.
