<![CDATA[I have finally spotted some information about the Spring 2026 British Columbia COVID-19 vaccination campaign, on BC's COVID immunization page (2026-04-21).]]>I have finally spotted some information about the Spring 2026 British Columbia COVID-19 vaccination campaign, on BC's COVID immunization page (2026-04-21). They say:

B.C.’s COVID-19 spring program is expected to run from April 22 to July 31, 2026, and you will get contacted by the registration system.

They recommend a spring dose for:

+ Adults 80 years and older
+ Indigenous adults 70 years and older
+ Residents of long-term care homes and assisted living facilities and those awaiting placement
+ People 6 months and older who have been diagnosed as clinically extremely vulnerable (CEV 1 or CEV 2)

They have a weaker recommendation for: 

+ Adults 65 years and older
+ Indigenous adults 55 years and older

It is not clear to me if people outside of the above groups are *allowed* to get a vaccination.

Unlike in previous years, the province did not put out a press release -- at least not one that I could find anywhere.

+ Reservations are still through the government site BUT they are taking walk-ins.
+ If you are not in one of the groups explicitly called out, you are still allowed to get a shot (as long as it has been at least three months since your previous shot).

I can't make an appointment directly with them, in other words.

Apparently BC isn't using the registration system this year -- they are leaving it up to the pharmacies to contact people about getting COVID-19 vaccinations.
