This is an alternative to Omelas.

Instead of one child in a dungeon they've got 15 people who could have been billionaires but instead only have 50 million each. Every day these people have to struggle with their choice to remain Norwegian and so never become a billionaire.

Yes people want to believe it, however it doesn't happen.

This. Sitting here in a cafe in Norway right now. Everyone has access to a home or shelter, everyone has access to healthcare, everyone can get an education. Taxes are "high", but Norwegians seems to have more disposable income than the average American or Brit. They live in nicer houses and drive nicer cars.
Oh, and they hardly have any billionaires. Go figure.

I would gladly pay that in taxes instead of a private company, to have health coverage for all. (And if everyone would pay it, the taxes would be less than the annual premiums)
