Finland gains direct rail link to Europe this summer

Transport Minister Lulu Ranne (Finns) says a long-delayed cross-border train to Sweden should begin rolling this summer, allowing passengers to ride the rails from continental Europe to Finnish Lapland, or overland between the Finnish and Swedish capitals.

(Although it might take a day longer, as you have to connect 2 night trains via kemi)

I Traveled from Tampere to Freiburg just a few years ago without a hitch (required a short walk from Finland to Haparanda station, that's better now).

And recently a trip to Belgium required two sleepovers and a hitchike because of missed connections.
