Well, I suppose we must all learn the UK's newspeak - unarmed protesters, whose only intention towards the public is to educate, and their elderly supporters holding up cardboard signs - these are the terrorists now.

So yes, although both parties are behaving stupidly in one matter, it is an affront to English to describe it so.

Until 2001-09-11, by a considerable margin the largest UK group detained & charged under anti-terrorist legislation were animal rights protestors. (Myself included). Who generally have profound, well thought out reasons for wanting to *avoid* causing terror or harm to animals, including humans.

(And yes, some nutters too, I grant. *Every* group has nutters. It's part of being human.)

Terrorists are now defined as anybody that threatens the government authority or the aims of their dodgy sponsors. The definition has nothing to do with keeping the public safe anymore.
