There is a lovely little patch of these in the old growth redwoods just north of Redway, CA. I saw them for the first time last year.

I saw these blooming on a rocky slope above Highway 101, north of Legget, California. Pulled off at the first opportunity and hiked back up to photograph them. They were a new species for me.
