In practice that's been hellish difficult in my experience. You have some app that's worked great for years and suddenly they…enshittify. Then you're faced with findind a replacement, avoiding updates, or living with the enshittification. And you probably didn't notice the enshittification in time to avoid it. You've updated and can't revert.
