As I went around a blackbird followed me at a safe distance and pounced on various insects disturbed by the machine.

Found a wild silver birch seedling, saved it from being cut by placing a short length of plastic drain pipe. Also found two more black currant. Saved.

Double phew now, feels wet and I think I can hear droplets....
