Currently I have my drivers license for over 15 years now but never had to own a car. Ofc I totally understand the is relative small, dense and flat compared to some massive countries but we also invest a lot in public infrastructure!

Besides from being able to bike almost anywhere in the country, most places also have public transport cover

Many American cities are designed in ways where it’s not only inconvenient but nearly impossible to operate without out a car an not lose 3-4 days per day to spotty bus service.

These things are deliberate choices by city planners, but it’s still possible to operate without a car! ☺️☺️☺️

Yes, efficient and affordable common transportation should be mandatory everywhere.
We are very lucky here, as they couldn't get more affordable 🤣

Here in the American backwater, it's a mess. You have 13-year-old kids with type III (basically an e-motorcycle) driving on sidewalks and killing pedestrians. The solution of punishing the kid's parents doesn't really help. It seems like we need to re-engineer our streets and licensing of vehicles. What have you guys done?
