Transcription tools predate the LLM hyperbole. There are security &amp; compliance concerns about 3rd party tools, but most corps control that. Either because it markets the bot product or because it captures training data, or both. The bots interrupted the meeting repeatedly with upselling messages. This has happened to me once, and I keep a very bitter memory of it. I’m very conflicted about these tools. As someone who learns and retains written information much better than spoken/video/audio, the transcripts and summaries have been helpful the few times I’ve used an AI notetaker (in meetings where others are too and consent). </p><p>Proliferarion of these notetakers has absolutely made me more guarded and careful in meetings, which feels frustrating. Maybe it’s futile, but I don’t feel I can be as open or speak as frankly in calls these days.
