In all the reports about the separatist petition, they only mention that the separatists reached their goal, while never mentioning that the petition, which had less time and no deep pocketed corporate sponsorship, far exceeded those numbers.

Journalists need to set the stage and provide information in context or else they are completely useless at their jobs.
