Reolink cameras have built-in object detection (person, car, pet) but it's local. I limit its traffic to the local network since it does phone home. </p><p>Frigate does local object detection. I use a Coral Tensor m.2 card for it, but there is support for GPU and CPU detectors as well.</p><p>Frigate also integrates into home assistant and supports a pretty big variety of cameras. You can roll your own very cheaply.
