There are only small changes between the book and the Disney movie. Instead of traveling with a lonely man they travel with a priest. In this version they keep their cat. Disney made 2 movies along the lines of the books. Later came a made-for-tv movie. Then in 1995 Disney made a version where everyone has a twin. It's weird. In 2009 Disney made Race to Witch Mountain.
I'd say the book and movie are equally enjoyable. The first two movies are made in the late 70s and have that happy vibe that tells you there's a happy ending. There's one line read that is just perfectly done. The villain realizes that RVs aren't meant to fly.
#books #AlexanderKey #EscapetoWitchMountain
