It stayed with all Nova Scotians. It had been during covid lockdown and stress was high everywhere. My former ship mate took his life that same night in despair. Someone vaguely related was also a victim of the shooting.
It wasn't close to me, but of course, it impacted us all

I remember when the β€œBeltway Snipers” were operating around these parts (although my town was further out from where they operated; the closest shooting was about 15 miles away)(still totally too close and not something anyone should have to think about!). It was more than 20 years ago, but that feeling stays with you. 😣😞

Nova Scotia is still very sensitive. Not far from this location was the biggest mass murdering in our history, and there were no alerts then.
The attacks are the deadliest shooting rampage in Canadian history.
