Well, there's a roof. Not very nice. But better than cancer plates. Might give it a pressure wash before and some paint after (with etch primer to stick, not like that green one there).

Ok, the roof is on. Looks horrible. Slum shack style!
I'll have to spiffy that up a little, don't like it right now. Add facia, bend some steel around them, fix that one rafter that is lower because the recycled wood was thinner at one end and I forgot to shim it
Also my pop riveter is FUBAR so I couldn't rivet the sheets together where they're joined between rafters. Perhaps should've added slats, but that felt overkill for a firewood roof
But, the roof is on, wood can finally stay dry. That is happy news. Also, bunch of steel put to use instead of laying in a pile in the garden. And so far the only thing I paid for was screws.

Ok, better. Fixed the low spot. Hammered some dents flat. Riveted the sheets together in between the rafters. Added facia all around, stapled some overlapping tar paper to the edges with goop in between.
Totally waterproof and looking a bit better, I think.
That roll of tar paper was laying on the floor in the garage, ready for disposal because in winter it was one solid lump. But leaving it in the sun for half a day I managed to unroll it. Used almost all of it, so one less piece of junk knocking around in the garage and put to use instead.
Now just some glue cleanup and paint, but as you can see it's raining again, so who knows when that'll happen. Anyways, it's doing its job well and I like it again!

Wow, no rain today! Quickly slapped on a coat of fancy Finnish primer. The primer costs 2x as much as the paint because it's difficult making things stick on galvanized steel.
On the upside, it can also adhere to tar paper. Despite the internet saying nothing adheres to tar paper. Typical case of the internet being wrong.
If the firewood store looks like it's grown curtains, that's because it currently doubles as onion/garlic drying station. Does a fine job of both.

I present you the rarest of animals on our little homestead: A finished project!
A fence-straddling firewood store for the sauna on the other side and some nice fruit tree logs for the #wheelbarbie on this side.
Also currently onion+garlic drying station. It's so good at that, I'll definitely keep the feature.
Made from old concrete pylons I pulled out of the garden, some scrap steel, some logs that were destined to be firewood, a couple recycled shack planks, a lot of old sheet metal riveted together and an ancient roll of tar paper.
Total cost about €30, mostly for paints and a few screws. Bonus: Less junk laying around!

The little firewood stash I built from scrap survived the winter intact. Some slight dents in the roof from heavy snow and ice, but good enough.
Alder is relatively light but has almost the same compressive strength as spruce/pine.
