hello everyone. there has been some misinformation going around that i would like to correct. in a recent video, published author dougdoug brought up the topic of eel sex. now, eels reproduce in the ocean, which is a problem for anguillidae, or freshwater eels, who live most of their life chilling in rivers and lakes and such. these freshwater eels make a massive trek deep into the ocean to fuck once and then die. once they reach their breeding grounds, they dissolve their digestive system and grow single-use reproductive organs to carry on their species. this all is very interesting, but it only applies to freshwater eels. most species of eel live in the ocean, but doug never gives this disclaimer, and the thumbnail of his video includes a picture of a spotted garden eel. garden eels, being saltwater eels of the family heterocongrinae, do not need to make a great migration to reproduce. in fact, garden eels reproduce in their own colony, moving their burrow closer to their mate and wrapping around them in the most graphic sex an eel can muster. this is really disappointing, as i expected doug to have a better understanding of eel sex than he has shown. i hope he puts out a retraction immediately to correct this blatant eel misinformation. thank you
