I'd not heard that about September.

I have sweet potatoes but this is just plants that are ready to harvest now. I read in a science article that sweet potato greens have the most nutrition in late September where they traditionally grown.

Both the leaves and tubers are edible and the yield per "slip" planted (baby plant) is good.
