His father, Reuben Moore, had died a few months previously and his mother, Elizabeth Lake, about two years earlier. Andrew and his five siblings were split up among relatives, including my ancestor, Lindsey Lake, who was also the administrator of the estate. Relative John C. Carter billed the Moore estate $3.50 for funeral expenses for young Andrew. That bill in the probate file is the only known documentation that Andrew ever existed.
