I think Jeff Halper is right; we must analyze the actions of Israel and its army through the lens of settler colonialism. When they threaten to turn southern Lebanon into another Gaza, it's not just empty talk, and they are doing it. From a geopolitical standpoint, one could argue that Gaza was merely a provocation, providing the US with a war-like context and allowing Israel to expand its territory further.

1️⃣ The Israeli prime minister has said that the two-week truce "does not include Lebanon" hours after Pakistan announced an immediate halt to hostilities "everywhere." (this text is not visible in the screenshots below)

2️⃣ Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who brokered the agreement, stated that "the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, along with their allies, have agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere, including Lebanon and elsewhere, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY."
