When I was a kid, and honestly still - I absolutely loved reptiles, but in particular: turtles!! 🐒

Growing up in GA, Spring and Summer meant thunderstorms every evening. Often, local rivers and roads would overflow and turtles would get β€˜lost’! Driving around, young me noticed how often turtles would stop traffic after a big storm to cross the road.

So, I started doing β€˜turtle patrols’ after storms. I’d ask my parents to drive me around after it rained so I could rescue any turtles stuck trying to cross the road. I had great success and helped many a’ turtle in my youth!

This lead to a quest for "hornworm chow", which lead to Roonami, a pretty big reptile store in North Edmonton. She loved it, it was like a trip to the zoo!
