@IcooIey @Lizette603_23 Sorry, can't be of much help with this one. I grow bush-style squashes and have never had to prune anything on them. I also never do any sort of pruning on my tomato plants, They are all indeterminate types and I just let them grow any way they want.

@Lizette603_23 also, not sure how you feel about climbing beans, but I’ve had spectacular luck with several varieties and have seeds to share. I have purple podded, rattlesnake, and scarlet runner. The first two are good “green” beans, the scarlet runners have edible pods too, but I mostly grow for flowers to attract hummingbirds and for dried beans. Can grow in limited space. If interested and have an address I could send them to, message me. Oh, I’m assuming you are in the US.

@Lizette603_23 I can't garden in dirt here because there's a ground squirrel problem. Plenty of open space but I have to garden on the driveway. Otherwise they tunnel in the soft dirt. Even under the pots. They are a #$%&* scourge.

@Lizette603_23 My favorite patio garden had a bean teepee, with three 6' bamboo poles in three big pots, tied together at the top, with string on two sides and an opening I could go in and pick the hanging beans.

@Lizette603_23 I love the bags! I've got mine sterilizing in the sun. I think this time I'll push them together and curve some white vinyl lattice around them so they don't dry out quite so fast.

@IcooIey What is your opinion of the oft recommended practice of cutting off all leaves below the fruit? I do that with indeterminate tomatoes and it's spectacularly easier to see what you're doing that way. I'd imagine doing that with this method of zucc growing would also reduce not only the visual clutter but humidity under all those leaves as well as weight on the structure. you can tell I'm excited. Yeah, sorry.

@Lizette603_23 @IcooIey Well, last year for the first time the bun buns devastated my bean starts, ate every one. I had to grow more starts and surround the bean patch with chicken wire. We decided this year to grow more beans (Pellegrini), so I have seeded 16 pots indoors. Then last night we spotted a baby bun bun eating grass near the garden. Going to have to get more chicken wire. 🤨
