Our billing systems are shifting from accounting for hours (and tokens) to measurable outcomes. Like just in time factory inventory, this pushes the cost of slack upstream, onto workers. My conclusion then:</p><p>"So maybe there’s a happy ending here. Maybe the truth of AI taking peoples’ jobs is bullshit AI taking peoples’ bullshit jobs. The disruption is going to be awkward, but hopefully we all get to spend our time more meaningfully."</p><p>But maybe I'm coming at it from a European perspective of 'the social safety net might be gossamer thin, but it's still there' rather than whatever it is playing out on the other side of the Atlantic.</p><p><div class="card col-md-9 col-lg-6 position-relative link-preview p-0">
