So yes, they literally pushed people under radioactive fallout for the sake of their deadly ideology.

In , there is an opinion that Chornobyl disaster was one of the nails in the coffin of the nidus. Hard to say, but it remains a toxic scar on beautiful Ukrainian Polissja, which will poison the nature for centuries.

In 2022, troops captured the plant during the Battle for , and, in particular, dug trenches in the infamous Red Forest.

In 1986, it was a forest of conifer trees near the power plant, which absorbed so much of radioactive matter, that died out on the roots and later turned red (therefore Red - or Rusty - Forest). The trees were buried to prevent spread of radioactive dust.

So far, it is not clear if anybody died from this insanity, but signs of excavation were found. Together with shelling of Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, I am sorry to inform that we still live next to people who don't mind to deliberately trigger an ecological disaster for the sake of their silly interests. It looks like we indeed shall abstain from energy, not because it is somehow extra dirty, but because we don't deserve that power to be placed in the hands of man.
