Nice to see more people than ever being aware of enshittification. Mastodon is different from other social medias with their algorithms. You’ll have to find cool people that make art to follow. Hashtags can be followed to help fill an empty feed.

A neat feature of mastodon is you can follow hashtags, and when just starting out this is good, because I don't think the "starter pack" feature for mastodon is done yet, so mastodon can feel kind of empty when first starting out, it takes a bit of effort to build up enough people to follow to have a good pile of stuff to read.

There's some anonymous helpful person who runs a bunch of fedi help accounts, and they periodically post interesting accounts to follow at @FediFollows

Cory Doctorow is very active over here and he likes to share people's posts. ^^
