*Cloud Atlas,* by David Mitchell ... slayed.

Good book! I could see myself rereading it eventually, and getting a lot more out of it.

*1636: Mission to the Mughals,* by Eric Flint and Griffin Barber ... slayed.

After poking away at *1636: Mission to the Mughals* for several months, I'm finally near the end. It's an interesting setting, but I haven't glommed onto any of the characters, and the plot is slow. It's been a slog.

*The Stranger,* by Max Frei ... slayed.

It's a strange book. A lot of it strikes me as deliberately alienating and confusing to the reader. Once I let myself drift to its moon logic, I found it entertaining, if still confusing.

*Dragon Quest 7: Reimagined* ... slayed.

I have mixed feelings. The last several hours were a slog (mostly self-inflicted). The content changes rubbed me the wrong way. I played it on hard, because the default difficulty felt too easy, but the balance felt out of whack by the end.

On the flip side, it's stuffed with charm and love, and most of the game was a joy.

            I'm glad to finally be done ... Wait, there's post-game content? 😅
