      @7666 to be fair the final shutoff in 2023 was largely absorbed by renewables at that point, the amount of power from nuclear at that time was already very small. the post-fukushima winddown was not a great move though, that caused measurable and proven increases in coal burning.

        @7666 to be fair the final shutoff in 2023 was largely absorbed by renewables at that point, the amount of power from nuclear at that time was already very small. the post-fukushima winddown was not a great move though, that caused measurable and proven increases in coal burning.

        @flisk honestly the more interesting datapoint is that the loss of nuclear for the first time forced a deficit in power production for the first time in 20 years which just makes me think the whole thing was rushed without regard to the potential effects of the loss of power sovereignty that unfortunately coincided with a certain invasion
