And I am definitely going to keep using @altbot. Many of the images I use are complex, so writing good alt text is v time-consuming. The bot hugely eases that tedious clerical task, leaving my time and creativity free for the substance of my toots -- which are all written without AI.

Usually they are posted by someone else who thinks the original poster has forgotten to add one. In any case very honest of you to also show your working.
If it was me I would have just written the alt-text directly - don't use alt-bot, don't use generative AI, full stop: still trying hard to keep the brain cell working in old age. FWIW I think my version would have been much shorter and to the point.
