The firmware bundles ship separate kernels for separate SoC generations, but the userland binaries are the same for all... good question on how that's handled, actually. AFAIK there is no new Mach-O ABI version or anything, so maybe the userland allocators will just query a kernel flag on whether to do MTE or not?
