Before the "RED" rebranding he was a central figure in "Redfish" which the Russian state media channel RT has directly admitted was funded by them.

To me it seems clear enough that this really is a Russia-run operation and so the sanctioning is most likely about that more than anything else even if Doğru of course wants to try to use it to further Russia's goals too.

Either you've been proven guilty or you're innocent. Sanctions are punishment. Punishments are for those proven guilty. Attacks on free speech and freedom of the press are not to be accepted but to be protested whether they come from Germany, the EU or the U.S.!
