Short story: Our Azure website was slow to startup. Azure Insights showed a weird timeout to an internal server I've never dealt with before. The call (stack trace) was coming from inside SQL Server's connection open method. It wasn't huge, it only affected the first request after the app went sleepy. But it sullied the logs and some early morning users got the short end of the stick. The problem would not replicate running under windows. So I craft up the minimal project to replicate and put it though it's paces. It would replicate under Docker desktop. Isolated it to the SSL connection for the SQL Server. Asking SQL to not check certs doesn't mean that certs won't get checked. Just that the results will be ignored. The cert (Corp self signed) had a revocation list configured that picked up the connection, but... Nothing. Just kept it open until the client gave up.
