Robust public services and a social safety net are not compatible with right-wing economic policy. This has been the great failure of neoliberalism. If we want things like health care, education, and infrastructure to work properly, it will cost more public money than Mark Carney is willing to spend, and that will hurt Canadians deeply in the long run.
