It’s the same stupidity happening at the provincial level. Airports are at best tangential, if not irrelevant, to the major challenges facing Canada and Canadians. It’s a distraction. Politicians seem universally incapable of identifying and focusing on real priorities. They want the appearance of doing something, while doing as little as possible. And it works, because every voter and interest group has their hobbyhorse. So just jump from one to the next, endlessly, and leave everything else to fall apart or explode.
